Making it look easy. How many times have you been in a meeting thinking "This facilitator is really good. I wish I could just stand up there and help the group achieve their goals. This person must be a natural facilitator" What you don't see is the planning and preparation that has gone on before the meeting to make it seem so "easy". Good facilitation is hard work. If you make it look easy it's because you have done your homework. You are prepared to step in and stimulate the discussion, step back and let the group work through a problem on their own and you are ready to handle the skeptic in the group who challenges every idea and proposal.

A wealth of knowledge is available about effective facilitation through books, articles, web sites, workshops and experiences of others. We have included resources that we believe are especially useful and that we use during Facilitation Workshops at the Navigation Center™. We have also included a download library of sample documents which are useful when planning a session at the NavCenter.
