Sometimes you just need a little inspiration,
or can't remember exactly how to draw a bulldozer, or just need
some good old-fashioned clipart. Here are some web sources:

LEARNING
TO DRAW
There
are so many different approaches to learning to draw and so many
different ways to teach it. Here are a few suggested books and websites
to explore.
Drawing on the Right Side of the
Brain and Drawing on the Artist Within, both by Betty
Edwards. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is a classic
and has helped thousands of people break down their "I can't
draw" barriers. The website discusses the theory behind the
books, provides exercises you can try, lists upcoming workshops
with Ms. Edwards and her associates, and includes a gallery of those
infamous "before and after" drawings.

Drawing the Head and Figure
by Jack Hamm. Not an exhaustive anatomy book; the sample drawings
are amusingly chauvinistic and outdated (for instance, most of the
female figures stand on tiptoe as if they're wearing spike heel
shoes, even when they're barefooted!). If you can get past the early
1960's cartoony tone of the book, there's actually quite a bit of
useful information here. Also check out some of Hamm's other books,
especially How to Draw Animals.

Mark Kistler's
Draw Squad. Mark Kistler is well known to some folks for his
PBS TV series "Mark Kistler's Imagination Station" and
for his books and video art kits. He has an awesome website; YOU
MUST GO THERE!

Rapid Viz: A New Idea for the
Rapid Visualization of Ideas. From its back cover, "The
basic quick-sketching skills you will develop with this technique
immediately open dormant regions of your mind and enable you to
capture and convert fleeting ideas into visual form."
