Minimize
your movements
While
scribing is helpful to many particpants, it is a distraction for
others. Try to be sensitive to this and keep your movements to a
minimum. Don't walk around a lot behind the speaker, cap and uncap
pens, or adjust your clothing.
Move
with intent
There
may be lulls in the discussion which stretch into many minutes in
length. If you realize that your scribing services are no longer
needed for this discussion, or if you can see that people are sidetracked,
don't float around uncertainly up there. Move with intent. You can
go back over some of the work you've done and fill in missing ideas
or words, embellish, clean up, finish drawings which got interrupted.
Or you can leave the Radiant Room. If you choose to do this, walk
away firmly as if you need to replace a pen or something.
Monitor
the facilitators
Sometimes
it's easy to get so involved with your scribing that you actually
lose touch with what the facilitator is doing or where that person
is standing. Try to keep track of what's happening around you.
