knowledge wall placement

  • connect with environment team on available wall space and placement of walls for the knowledge wall

visual theme

  • connect with graphics team on visual theme for the knowledge wall (this is only necessary if the knowledge wall team requires assistance. The nature of the elements on the wall, or skills of the knowledge management team may not require this assistance).

 

knowledge agents

  • knowledge wall agents including images, quotes, articles, etc. are gathered and wall construction begins before start of event.

good enough for now

  • knowledge wall reaches 'level of completeness' before event begins

 

continuous emergence

  • additions to wall may be continuous throughout event
  • don't show your hand to quickly
  • reveal an image/idea/ah-ha over the course of the event, and don't forget to listen to the participants
  • allow the patterns of the participants work and comments to impact the life of the knowledge wall.

participant photos

  • connect the team that stepped up to capturing the participants photographs (video/graphics) and establish a process to receive the printed photos and refresh the knowledge wall with them periodically.

 

ongoing research

  • knowledge wall team is available for research before and during event
  • this research may contribute to the knowledge wall, assignments for the writing team or participants requests

 

bibliography

  • keep a bibliography of all articles and quotes posted on the knowledge wall as well as book chapters and articles given to participants as a part of their assignments
  • connect with the production team for naming and saving

reusable articles/quotes/books

  • utilize reusable materials if possible, and replace them carefully after the event

wrap up and archive

  • connect with production team on file naming and saving protocol to transfer bibliography and any other electronic files to the production team for addition to the journal/work product
  • make additions to the reusable files from the event's research
  • add articles that proved effective and update the reusable database to include the new entries
  • replace any images, quotes, etc. to the reusable knowledge agent files
  • make additions to reusable files with any images, pictures
  • a clean finish is vital to ensure the future usefulness of this information
