People vary as to which cognitive or sensory modality they are most oriented: visual (or graphic), kinesthetic, or verbal. Less than one-third of the population is primarily oriented toward verbal and written communication; yet typically, we try to communicate nearly all business information through this one channel. Yet advertising and marketing information is highly visual and kinesthetic, because its understood this is how to reach a broader audience. By incorporating visual language and graphic modes of communication, band by encouraging work processes that involve more physical movement, we engage more people more completely in the process of learning and working effectively. the pace at which information is presented also affects individual learning. When someone has difficulty learning something, the tendency is to slow down the pace of delivery and level of detail in a presentation is increased, students may still only retain a certain percentage of the total presentation yet the amount retained is greater than would occur if the presentation were watered down.
