Planning a Session at the NavCenter

The NavCenter is available free of charge to groups from Borgess Health. To schedule your session call (226-5170) or e-mail (Lotus Notes: NavCenter) to check the availability of the space.

The following information is needed when you schedule your session.

  • Name and Sponsor of the Session
  • Date and Time of the Session
    NavCenter space is subject to availability; however, it is possible to hold multiple events/projects in the environment simultaneously depending on the size and complexity of the sessions.
  • Number of Attendees

  • We can accommodate groups of up to 70. Groups of 20 or less may be scheduled for a project room. These rooms can also be used for small groups that require a more confidential setting.
  • Space and Resources

  • Books, computers, radiant room, break out areas, etc. are available. We will setup tables chairs and other furnishings requested in advance. Arrangements can also be made to store materials and supplies at the NavCenter when your are meeting here repeatedly.
  • Planning Consultation
    NavCenter staff is available to assist you with planning, information or support. If you have not previously met with one of our staff to review tips for using the environment, we recommend that you schedule a planning meeting, to help make your session a successful experience for your group. Staff can also co-design sessions with you. Please discuss with us any presentations that will be used during your session. Previous users are also welcome to schedule a planning meeting.

Additional Information About Using the NavCenter

  • Food and Beverages
    You may help yourself to refreshments – coffee, tea and water. Instructions for making coffee are posted in the kitchen. Food and other beverages for breaks, lunch and dinner may be brought into the Navigation Center. You are responsible for disposing of left over food and cleaning up dishes glasses, cups, serving materials, etc. at the conclusion of the session. A soda vending machine is also available. Recycle bins are available for glass, plastic and returnable soda containers. The bins are located in the kitchen.
  • Environment
    Please clean any tables you used during your session. Return WorkWalls, tables and chairs to their original setup and wipe off any WorkWalls that you used. If you would like to digitally capture the work on the walls, please ask us how to do this. Bins for recyclable paper are available in the production room and around the space.
  • Audiovisual Equipment The
  • NavCenter is designed for interactive work among participants; in addition the open spaces and light conditions are not optimal for viewing lengthy presentations on a projection screen. TV monitors are available, however, for viewing videocassette tapes or information from a computer screen
