Meetings
are designed. Someone in a responsible position invented that structure.
You want to install a new set of conventions. It is worth investing
the time, effort and documentation into small events as part of
the process of doing things a new way. Later, you can say, "We
are going to have a Form A meeting." People will know what
to bring and how to act.
You have to get a lot deeper into the models
because they have a lot to say on this. I will be putting the whole
patent on a web page in the near future so you can get back into
the basics of the models.
We are creating a new process for the culture. This corporate structure
has evolved over two hundred years. So, it is worth it to give the
new rules name and voice so you can use them like Tinker Toy elements.
there are multiple types of engagements from meetings, to seminars,
to DesignShops®. When you put together a project, you bring
people to the right things.
There are some people who should not have to endure a DesignShop
or multiple day event. They should not have to. If we are doing
a PatchWorks
model, we can employ those people in an environment that is more
friendly to them. Then we will bring that out to the design teams.
When the space is really working, it will have lots of different
formal processes. The DesignShop is not the solution to everything.
But be careful not to make it a DesignShop or nothing. The conventional
processes have to be reconceived and recreated. You will have to
find the forms and processes that will meet your cultural standards.
It a delicate process, because cultures do not want to change.
The issue here is co-evolution and working with structures to change
them and give them word and voice.
