How
do you manage being both a facilitator and a participants? There are
several tactics. The first is to have everyone in the team rotate.
Include a little feedback and criticism. Passing the baton in this
way helps to get outside of biases.
The other thing to understand is where you are in the Creative
Process. If you are in the beginning of the process, you have
to be careful that all ideas get out. However, in the latter part
of that process when you are drilling down, the facilitation style
will change and in some ways becomes more directive. The context of
the exercise will have a lot to say about your actions here.
